Association of MBAs (AMBA)


AMBA is an international membership organization, formed of graduates of accredited MBA programs, which seeks to promote the value of the accredited MBA.


”Our vision is to be the international advocate of the MBA. It is a vision that recognizes the Association's strengths as the guardian of MBA quality standards and the unique role we play in supporting business schools, to develop business leaders. The Association provides a network for MBAs, business schools and employers. We also offer an important forum for the exchange of knowledge, ideas and best practice.”


The University of Geneva (HEC) is a fully accredited member of AMBA, covering both the IOMBA as well as the part time MBA programs of the University.

 


Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA)


The Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) comprises 34 member schools in North America, Asia and Europe dedicated to the improvement of professional education in international affairs and the advancement thereby of international understanding, prosperity, peace, and security. APSIA members work to promote excellence in the education of professional, international affairs worldwide by sharing information and ideas among member schools, with other higher education institutions, the international affairs community, and the general public.


APSIA member schools are the primary sources of education for international affairs professionals in their respective countries. These schools prepare students for the global workplace of the 21st Century by combining multidisciplinary, policy-oriented, intercultural studies with career development. The IOMBA Programme is an affiliate member of APSIA.



 Net Impact


Net Impact is a network of more than 13,000 new-generation leaders committed to using the power of business to improve the world. It is also one of the most innovative and influential networks of MBAs, graduate students and young professionals in existence today. Our members believe that business can both earn a profit and create positive social change. Through a central office in San Francisco and more than 100 chapters in cities and graduate schools around the globe, Net Impact offers a portfolio of programs that enable members to transform this ideal into measurable results.


The Geneva IOMBA chapter of Net Impact - which all IOMBA students are part of - is committed to utilize its unique positioning amongst international organizations and NGOs in Geneva to bring together the business leaders who are interested in making a positive and meaningful impact on society through their ideas and actions. The Geneva Chapter is pro-actively involved in the European expansion of Net Impact and has been in charge of hosting and organizing the successful “2008 Net Impact European Conference” during which over 500 international graduate business students and professionals had the chance to discuss potential answers to the question: “How can we tackle the global challenge of sustainability?”.

 


PRME - Principles for Responsible Management Education


The mission of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative is to inspire and champion responsible management education, research and thought leadership globally.


The PRME are inspired by internationally accepted values such as the principles of the United Nations Global Compact. They seek to establish a process of continuous improvement among institutions of management education in order to develop a new generation of busines leaders capable of managing the complex challenges faced by business and society in the 21st century.


In the current academic environment, corporate responsibility and sustainability have entered but not yet become embedded in the mainstream of business-related education. The PRME are therefore a timely global call for business schools and universities worldwide to gradually adapt their curricula, research, teaching methodologies and institutional strategies to the new business challenges and opportunities.
